Judy Zimmerman, 62, of Westfield, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 6, 1954 to Vaughn A. and Peggy E. (Plott) Kaforke in Roanoke, Virginia.
Judy was a 1972 graduate of North Central High School. She pursued a career at Howard W. Sams Co. as a Graphic Illustrator until 1989 when she and her husband, Russ, started their family. During her children's school years, Judy was very involved in the activities of being a Room Mom and the PTO as well as extracurricular activities including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and soccer. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and was an avid reader. Judy's life revolved around her family and her dogs and she derived great pleasure in the successes of her children and the unconditional love of her dogs. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Carmel.
Her memory will be everlasting and will be cherished forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Russell R. Zimmerman; her daughter, Brittney Zimmerman; her son, Christopher Zimmerman; brothers, Steven Kaforke and Timothy Kaforke; her sister, Betsy Shackelford and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2201 East 106th Street in Carmel, with Pastor David L. Hewitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
