Jean Huff Hammer, 91, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. A life-long Noblesville resident, she was born on November 26, 1929 in the old Harrell Hospital to the late J. Estle and Marrion (Eller) Huff in Noblesville, Indiana.
After graduating from Noblesville High School, class of 1948, Jean worked for Indiana Bell for several years. Leaving that job, she retired after 25 years from the Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison. She then worked for many years as the "Ice-cream Lady” at Alexander's Ice Cream Shop. Jean was a birth-right member of Noblesville First Friends Church where she participated in Women’s circle activities.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Sereno; brothers, J. Phillip Huff (Tipton), J. David Huff (Noblesville), and Bill B. Huff (Spokane, Washington); and her sister, JaneSue Huff (Helena MT). She is also survived by nieces, Kelly Defoe, Amy Marshall, and Amanda Clark; nephews, Curt Huff, David A. Huff, and Jeff Baker; in addition to several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family is planning a memorial service to honor Jean at a later date.
