Mary Nell King

Mary Nell (Damron) King passed away December 4, 2021. Nell was born September 23, 1930 to Ballard R. and Maxie June (Reynolds) Damron at her family home in Virgie, Kentucky.

Nell loved to play on the mountainside and in the creek with her 5 brothers and sisters then in the evening sitting out on the front porch for some family singing that could be heard up and down the holler. Nell loved music all her life and took any opportunity she could to sing usually praises to her Lord. Nell taught school for 2 years before becoming the pin-pal of a "dreamy eyed" soldier that would become the love of her life and her beloved husband of 67 years, William Edsel King on July 6, 1953 who proceeded her in death on December 17th, 2020. Nell loved her church family and served in many ways in the Noblesville Nazarene Church from teaching children's classes to serving in the choir and on the church board. Many life-long friendships were formed with other members of the church. Nell loved people and if she could be silly and get a laugh her day was made.

Along with her husband Edsel, she was preceded in death by her father and mother and youngest son Jeffery Dennis King.

Nell is survived by:  Randy and Cindy King - Son and daughter-in-law, Noblesville, IN; Marcia and Joseph Holmes – Daughter and son-in-law, South Bend, IN; Kristin King - Granddaughter, Indianapolis; Kyle and Tausha Wilson - Grandson and wife, Winamac, IN; Scott King - Grandson, Anderson, IN; Jeanne and Nicholas Foster - Granddaughter and husband, Plymouth, IN; Jennifer Harris and Brian Chance - Granddaughter and fiance, Valparaiso, IN; Joni and Ivan Balicky - Granddaughter and husband, Delphi, IN; also 15 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm, with services at 1:30 pm, on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.  Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
