Audrey W. Hart

March 14, 1926 — December 17, 2020

Audrey W. Hart

Audrey W. Hart, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2020.  She heard the words as she entered heaven, "Well done thy good and faithful servant, you have kept the faith, your time on earth is done, welcome home."

She was born on March 14, 1926 to John Keen and Eliza Catron in Sunnybrook, Kentucky.

Audrey was married to James Hart on March 6, 1943.  For 63 years, they enjoyed their time together until his death in 2006.  After retirement, they planned their weeks around garage sales, looking for antiques.

In September of 1955, they adopted their daughter, Janet Kay.  She was the answer to her prayers.  There was a lot of love in that little house on 12th Street.

Audrey loved her family well.  She was the epitome of the true matriarch.  She prayed every night for them, naming each one, reminding God to watch over her family.

Audrey was known for her southern cooking, fried apple pies, fried hot dogs, potato salad, and, of course, her famous chocolate gravy.  She was a quilter and a seamstress.  Audrey crocheted afghans and sock dolls for everyone in the family and beyond.  She crocheted baby afghans for infants at Riverview Hospital.  Audrey's final passion was making beaded bracelets for her family and all her favorite caregivers at Prairie Lakes Health Campus.

Audrey was a member of the Noblesville First Church of the Nazarene where she served her Lord in many ways:  Sunday School teacher, choir member, church board member, youth leader, and most of all, prayer warrior.  She pretty much did everything but preach, although her daughter has heard a few sermons.  She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Headquarters of the Nazarene Church.

Over the years, Audrey was employed by Firestone, Riverview Hospital, O'Malia's Grocery and Kenley's Grocery.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Chuck) Leonard of Noblesville; grandson, Brandon (Angie) Baker of Noblesville; granddaughter, Emily (Drew) Alexander of Wesley Chapel, Florida; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Keerstin) Baker, Alecksa Baker, Abby Baker, Jake Baker, Aiden Alexander and Leah Alexander; great-great-grandsons, Jason and Tiberius Baker; and sisters, Nettie (Larry) Stroud and Maxine (Don) Rednour.

In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, James Hart; sisters, Lena Reno, Doshia Stinson, Grace Denney, Jannie Hancock Miller, Linnie Catron, Dorothy Denney, and Ruth Peavie; and her brother, Roy Catron.

Due to Covid-19, a private family service will be held at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, with Pastor Corinne Gunter officiating.  The service will stream live on the Facebook page of Janet Hart Leonard.

The family wishes to thank Prairie Lakes Health Campus, Five Star Residences, Riverview Hospital and Saxony Hospital for caring so well for Audrey.  Her caregivers, Nina Williams, Angie Baker and Rachel Thompson, loved her well when she lived at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mill (First Church of the Nazarene), 1399 Greenfield Avenue, Noblesville, IN 46060; or adopt a resident who has no family at Prairie Lakes Health Campus, 9730 Prairie Lakes Blvd. E, Noblesville, IN 46060.  That would make Audrey happy.
