Barbara Jean Howell

Barbara J. Howell, 94, of Noblesville, passed away December 20, 2024 (Richard’s 100th birthday). She was born on June 11, 1930, but later was adopted by Lisle and Martha (Southwick) Hayes in Marion, Indiana.

For 30 years, Barbara worked as a human resource assistant for United States Gypsum in Wabash, Indiana. She was a member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church where she was involved with the church choir, the Susannah Circle, and the church newsletter. Barbara was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Sigma-Fi-Gamma and Tri-Kappa (Sororities). She enjoyed writing poetry, making Christmas candy, volunteer work and gardening.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Jim) Newcomer and Susan (Chris) Mitson; her sons, Rick (Janet) Howell and Mark (Cindy) Howell; grandchildren, Jamie (Josh) Horn, Missy (Mike) Derickson, Stephen Newcomer, Ozzie (Nicole) Mitson, Tony (Taryn) Mitson, Mickey (Kara) Mitson, Erin (John) Otto, Zach Howell, Noah Howell, Seth Howell, and Chloe Howell; seven great grandchildren with two more on the way; and brother Jim (Jane) Hayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eugene Howell.

Services will be held December 30th, 2024. Viewing is 11 am - 1 pm (with the burial to follow) at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
