Barbara Litherland, 86, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. She was born on December 3, 1937 to Lloyd and Ruth (Mosbey) McEllhiney in Princeton, Indiana. Barbara had recently relocated from Park Terrace Village in Evansville to Maple Park Village in Westfield.
For decades, Barbara was co-owner/operator, with her husband, George, of Flowers by George located in downtown Evansville. One of their locations was across the street from the old Executive Inn. George was the designer, and Barbara handled the business side. They loved working with the people of the community. Barbara was a former Oakland City resident from birth through 1965, and lived in Evansville from 1965-2024. She enjoyed riverboat gambling, quilting, gardening, and traveling with George. She especially loved her Bassett Hounds that she and George owned over the years.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Randall) Wilson of Noblesville, granddaughter, Laura (Mikael) Armstrong of Zionsville, and her great-grandchildren, Ava and Maguire Armstrong.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, George V. Litherland, in September 2023.
Private services will be held. Barbara will be laid to rest next to George at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, Indiana.
