Barbara L. (Pearson) Scott, 79, Noblesville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 23, 1930 in Indianapolis to Nathan and Mary (Rigsbee) Pearson.
Barbara was a homemaker. She graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1951 where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Barbara was a lifetime member of Tecumseh Lodge where she was president for three years and wrote their newsletter for many years. She was a member of the Great Lakes Region of the National Hostas Society. Barbara taught over 15 years at the annual Hosta College. She developed her own variety of hosta that she called the "Friends Hosta". Also in 1976 she was in the first Boy Scout Leadership Class for adults ever offered to women for the Wood Badge. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Leader. 
She is survived by husband, Joseph A. Scott; sister, Patricia (Harold) Douglas; daughter, Carolyn Dotson; daughter, Margaret Scott; son, Larry (Audrey) Scott; daughter, Martha (John) King; daughter, Susan (Marion Haakanson) Scott; daughter, Melissa  Higgins; sister-in-law, Cordelia Scott; former son-in-law, David  Dotson; nephews, Jeb and Bruce Buchanan; niece, Diane Draper; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeff Higgins.
Services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Pastor Mark Lowe officiating. There will be no visitation.
