Ben McCoy, 68, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital - 86th St. in Indianapolis. He was born on May 10, 1944 to Bryce and El Myra "Myra" (Mullins) McCoy in Melvin, Kentucky.
Ben was a master machine operator for 18-1/2 years, retiring from Stanley Security Solutions, formerly known as Best Lock Corp. He was a member of Sheridan First Baptist Church; loved farming and gardening. Most of all he loved his family. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving overseas in England as a high level ammo specialist.
He is survived by his wife, Carol McCoy; daughter, Ursula (Todd) Burkhalter; son, Gary (Josie) McCoy; son, Robbie McCoy; son, James (companion Stacey) McCoy; son, Ben (companion Angie) McCoy; sister, Fern Urban; brother, Ralph (Suzie) McCoy; brother, Bryce (JoAnn) McCoy; sister, Donna (Raymond) Hall; brother, James (Joyce) McCoy; brother, Harold (Judy) McCoy; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alfrieda McCoy.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with Pastor Alan Schoeff and Pastor Gary Woodring officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
