Ben L. Sprinkle Jr., 99, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hamilton Trace of Fishers in Fishers. He was born on October 31, 1920 to Ben L. Sprinkle Sr. and Ida Mae (Russell) Sprinkle in Cannelton, Indiana.
Ben was a proud United States Marine veteran who served during WWII. For many years, he was a teacher and principal for Lawrence Township Schools, Durban Elementary, Hamilton Southeastern High School, and finally Fishers Elementary. After retirement, Ben worked for Walmart. He loved reading and watching sports, especially football. Ben enjoyed working outdoors, raising farm animals and gardening.
He is survived by his children, Joyce L. Houk, Michael Sprinkle, Sherri Sprinkle, and Cathy Ellis; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia Lewis.
In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret J. Sprinkle; brothers, Robert Sprinkle and Morris Sprinkle; and his sister, Jerri Mitchell.
Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with visitation from 2:00 pm to the time of service at the funeral home. Rev. Cheryl Russell officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis at a later date.
