Betty Ann McDonald

Betty Ann McDonald, 82, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Maple Park Village in Westfield. She was born on June 25, 1941 to Wilson and Mary (Dixon) Phillips in Wayland Springs, Tennessee.

Betty was a 1959 graduate of Noblesville High School. She trained at Royal Beauty Academy and went on to work as a beautician and hair stylist for 56 years. She was owner and operator of Betty's Beauty Shop on North Street for most of that time, where she served a loyal clientele. Betty achieved career Master Beautician status and she was a graduate of Purdue University's cosmetology summer professional development workshops.

Betty taught Sunday School and Children's Church at the First Church of God in Noblesville for many years, sang in the choir and sang many duets with her husband Squeak. In more recent years, she attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed crafting projects and produced several holiday themed items for sale in local bazaars and craft fairs.

Betty's other interests included reading Amish fiction stories, and writing in her own diaries. She loved telling stories and jokes, and was usually the center of attention, which she relished. Betty's sense of humor and kindness were two of her greatest strengths. Betty was a proud cat mom at various times in her adult life.

Betty is survived by her sister, Wilma Robison; step-daughter, Tina (Hector) Arocha; nephew, Andy (Traci) Robison; nieces, Mikki (John) Perrine, and Marci Phillips; great-nephews, Matthew Robison and Bennett Robison; as well as several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Squeak" McDonald; and her brother, William R. Phillips.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a memorial service at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. Rev. Dr. Jim Farrer will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
