Bill Gossard, 82, of Cicero, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home. He was born on October 13, 1931 to Earl and Estella Mae (Goodknight) Gossard in Cicero, Indiana.
Bill worked for several years at Firestone in Noblesville, and also farmed for more than 18 years of his life. He also operated a Marathon gas station, and drove a dump truck before retiring in 1997. He was passionate about being a school bus driver for children with special needs with Noblesville Schools from 1994-2006. He was a graduate of Jackson Central high school, where he played football, basketball, and baseball; and was an eagle scout in his earlier years. He was a member of Cicero Christian Church; he loved people, and people loved him. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, E. Lucille Gossard; sona, Greg Gossard, and Jeff (Jody) Gossard; daughter-in-law, Missy Gossard; sister-in-law, Alice Harrison; three grandchildren, Shane, Wesley, and Katelyn Gossard; and two great-grandchildren, James Michael and Leighton William Gossard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Dougie Gossard in 1973, and Kent Gossard in 2001; and grandson, Michael Gossard in 1999.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with Pastor Robert Stubbs officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero.
