Bill Helton

Bill Helton, 68, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1947 to Dorlene and Ruby (Hobbs) Helton in Benham, Kentucky.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army Airborne Division from 1971-1972 during the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. He also served 2 years in the Air National Guard. Bill worked for 34 years as a machine builder of automated feeder machines for Matt's Welding Service, Fortville Feeders, and finally Advance Technology, retiring in 2009. He had a love and passion for his cars, enjoyed building things, and loved working with wood. Most of all, Bill was a loving family man.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Helton; children, John (Carol) Cowan, Charles (Keiko) Cowan, and Tina (Tom) Clark; siblings, Frances (Bob) Pickel, Elmer (Amy) Helton, Junior (Eleanor) Helton, and Sue Rains (Alvin Trosper); and grandchildren, James Cowan, Dennis (Shari) Cowan, April Bryant, and Angela (Matthew) Faux.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, John Parks Helton, Lillie Mae Cottrell, and Jackie Helton.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with visitation from 12:00 pm Noon to the time of service. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noblesville VFW Post #6246, 654 South 9th Street, Noblesville, IN 46060.
