Billie Jean Dixon Kimbrell, 88, of Noblesville, died Sunday, September 10th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Billie Jean was born March 21st, 1935 in West Point, Tennessee to Willie and Coral Dixon. She grew up in Collinwood, Tennessee with her siblings, Betty Ruth, Ruby, Mary Tom, Sonny, and Sue. She married Ned Kimbrell on September 2nd, 1951 in Corinth, Mississippi. Together they were blessed with four children, Tim, TK, Keith, and Sherri.
Billie Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, as well as an extraordinary cook and homemaker. Before retiring, Billie Jean worked as a school bus driver in Noblesville, Indiana, where she lived for 72 years. She was a devout member of the Church of God Worldwide Association. She was a devoted wife to Ned for 72 years, as well as a doting matriarch to her four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Billie Jean enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing, and spending time with family and friends, charming all who crossed her path with her unwavering kindness and bright sense of humor. She was quick to share cherished stories, hilarious quips, home remedies and recipes, and delicious home-cooked meals with those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Billie Jean is survived by her husband, Ned Kimbrell; her brother, Oscar “Sonny” Dixon; her sons, Tim Kimbrell, Terry “TK” Kimbrell, and Keith Kimbrell; her daughter, Sherri Kimbrell Green; her grandchildren, Kelli Kimbrell, Jacob Green, Justin Kimbrell, Hailey Mager, Terah Kimbrell, Brock Green, Kyleigh Kimbrell, and Matthew Steadham; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Makain Short, Cole Carter, River Kimbrell, Dawson Mink, and Landon Mager.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with services at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. Dave Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
