Billy Lea Jones, 75, of Fishers, passed away January 6, 2012 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis, surrounded by his family. Billy was born June 22, 1936 in Hillsdale, IN, the son of Marvin and Mildred (Jackson) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a 1958 graduate of Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He worked in management for Anaconda Ericcson Wire & Cable in Marion, IN for 25 years, before working for Lockheed-Martin in their defense systems division, in Georgia and Alabama for 15 years, retiring in 1996. Billy was a man of faith and extraordinary spirituality, and a member of the Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughter; Laura Jones; a son, Scott (Kim) Jones; a sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Richardson; five grandchildren, Heidi (Gabe) Robbins, Curtis (Crystal) Jones, Brandon (Erica) Jones, Kristin (Justin) Toussing and Jonathan Gerber; along with five great-grandchildren, Ashton Robbins, Callie Robbins, Ethan Toussing, Caleb Toussing and Coby Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 51 years, Clo Ann (Carnes) Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with the Reverend Mark Wesler officiating.
