Blanche A. Turner, 102, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born on September 26, 1908 to William and Anna (McCutcheon) Benton in Elberfeld, IN.
She was a member of St. Andrews United Christian Church Christian Church in Sarasota, Florida as well as Epworth United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. She also belonged to the Indiana State Teachers Association. She retired as a 2nd grade school teacher, teaching at Elberfeld Public Schools, then at Indianpolis Public Schools.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Sally Jo (Don L.) Peglow; nieces and nephews, Dwight (Sally) Benton, William (Ann) Benton, Robert Benton, Alexa (James) McMurray, and Gregory (Angela) Rinehart; grandchildren, Scott L. (Suzie) Peglow, Bradley S. (Cheryl) Peglow, Laura Ann (Keith) Reichold; great-grandchildren, Dustin Peglow, Reed Peglow, Nicole Davis, Amanda Peglow, Brooke Thompson, and Joseph Peglow; and great-great-grandchildren, Chase Peglow and Tyler Gray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Herrell; her second husband, Fred W. Turner; and siblings, Burton Benton, Myron Benton, Ernestine Finney, and infant twin siblings.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road , in Noblesville. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
