Bonnie Lou Robinette

Bonnie Lou Robinette, 71, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her home surrounded by the family she so deeply cherished.

Bonnie was born on May 16, 1949 to Paul and Dora (Garrison) Allison in New Castle, Indiana. She graduated from Highland High School in Anderson, Indiana in 1967. There she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, DuWayne. Bonnie and DuWayne made their home in Anderson, Indiana, where they raised two children. Inspired by her faith, Bonnie served as an administrative assistant at Faith Church for 26 years and ministered to countless people through prayer, words of wisdom, and her luminous presence. Bonnie and DuWayne moved to Noblesville, Indiana in 2002 where she worked as a preschool teacher at Legacy Christian School for 8 years. They attended Northview Church in Noblesville where Bonnie was active in a women’s Bible study.

A woman of deep prayer and passionate faith, Bonnie radiated God’s pure love to all she encountered. Whether among her family, her friends, her church community, or her precious students, Bonnie’s warmth and generosity of spirit drew others into an inclusive and affirming presence. Her intuitive spirit often attracted her to strangers, to pray for them or offer a gesture of loving care when she sensed they needed it. As sweet as “Bon Bon” was, she was also tenacious. A fierce competitor on the tennis court, she exuded a courageous spirit in all circumstances, including during times of extended health challenges. She adored her husband, as her husband adored her, and together they inspired others in the vocation of marriage and family. Other than her home, her favorite place in the world was Mackinac Island, where she visited nearly every year with family and friends. She especially loved riding her bike around the island and soaking in the sun on the beach or a cozy porch. She often spoke of “freedom” and of “enjoying the journey,” and her zest for life, just as her love for others, was infectious. Her deepest wish was a life of faith for her children and grandchildren, and so it was fitting that they were all gathered around her, reading scripture, singing a hymn, and holding her hands as she passed on to her heavenly Father.

She is survived by her husband, DuWayne Robinette; son and daughter, Brian Robinette and Melissa Kelley; daughter- and son-in-law, Krista Robinette and David Kelley; grandchildren, Trevor and Austin Robinette, Anna and Sarah Kelley; brother, Gary Allison (Donna); sisters-in-law, Carol Wentz (Eldon) and Pam Looper (Doug); nephews, Greg Allison, Nathan Hubbell, and Dustin Looper; nieces, Dawn (Allison) Diaz, Angela Hubbell, Taylor (Wentz) Burdekin, and Autumn (Looper) Gasior.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael, in miscarriage.

A memorial service will be held at a later time. The Robinette Family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Home with Bonnie's care.

Memorial contributions may be made to Give Hope 2 Kids, P.O. Box 221, Waconia, MN 55387 or www.givehope2kids.org .
