Bruce O. Briles, Sr, 90, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at home. He was born on August 16, 1921 to Herman and Bessie (Bruce) Briles in Westfield, Indiana. He and Lena Mae (Bailey) were married in Nevada in 1968. She preceded him in death in 1986.
Bruce had worked as a carpenter and millwright in the Air Force, and worked for Firestone Industrial Products. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force Corp. of Engineers, and was a WWII veteran serving from 1942-1945. He was member of the American Legion Post 0155 in Carmel, the Westfield VFW Post 10207, and the Noblesville Moose Lodge #540. He was also an Honorary Member of Pleasant View Baptist Church
He is survived by son, Bruce O Briles, Jr of Noblesville; daughter, Sue Parmalea of Wilcox, AZ; niece, Pat (Ron) Kesseler; and sister-in-law, Lou Darden and a cousin Edward Keys.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Ivan Briles; and sister, Mary Ellen Winters.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday May 26, 2012 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 12 noon immediately prior to the service. Pastor David Rogers will officiate. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.
