Harold Wayne “Bud” Melloh, of Fishers, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis surrounded by his family. Bud was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was born on November 12, 1944 to William and Lida (Milner) Melloh in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bud grew up on the Eastside of Indianapolis, where he developed a deep love for family, faith, and community. A proud graduate of Scecina High School (1962), Bud had a brief stint in the Navy before pursuing his passion for craftsmanship at trade school, where he became a skilled union steamfitter and plumber. Bud dedicated nearly 40 years to his profession, embodying the values of hard work, sacrifice, and service to others.
In 1995, Bud and his beloved wife, Nancy, moved to Fishers, Indiana, where they built a life rooted in love and faith. Married for 60 beautiful years, Bud and Nancy created a legacy of devotion and care that will be cherished by their family for generations. Together, they raised four boys: Jeff (Elizabeth), Mike (Ellen), Todd (Carrie), and Chad (Emily).
A man of unwavering faith and generosity, Bud was more than a father to his own children-he was a coach, mentor, and friend to countless kids through his involvement with Warren Little League Baseball and the Warren Township Football Club. While Bud did not pursue a formal college education, his wisdom, integrity, and compassion earned him what his family affectionately calls a “doctorate in family, love, sacrifice, and faith in God.”
Bud’s greatest joy was his family. He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren-Morgan, Katie, Cory (Molly), Caroline Stanzak (Jaime), Luke (Jenna), Kristin, Kevin, Evan (Sarah), Jacob, Graham, Hudson, Easton, and Eli - and great-grandfather of Harper, with another great-grandchild on the way in a few weeks.
Bud is also survived by his brothers, William Melloh and Robert Melloh, and leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Services to celebrate Bud’s life will be held at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home,12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, with visitation on Friday, January 10th from 5:00-8:00 pm and on Saturday, January 11th at St. Louis de Montfort (11441 Hague Road, Fishers) at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, Indiana. Friends and family are invited to honor the remarkable man who gave so much to those he loved.
