Carl Etchison

Carl Leon Etchison, 79, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born January 4, 1930 in Elwood, Indiana to Chandler and Georgia (Waymire) Etchison.
Carl had been a maintenance supervisor at Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 1987. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, in Noblesville, where he had been an officer and Elder of the church. In addition, he was active with the local Gideon's International chapter, of which he had served as president; he had served as vice-president of the Rescue Mission in Kokomo; and had also been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Soup Kitchen, in Fort Myers, Florida. Carl was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Etchison of Noblesville; three daughters, Retha (Dennis) Naylor of Frankton, Rhonda Perry of Noblesville and Dahlie Bragg of Bloomington; one son, Carl (Nancy) Etchison of Spring, TX; two step-sons, David (Lee) Lavengood of Kokomo, and Dan (Betty) Lavengood of Noblesville; two brothers, Dallas (Marilyn) Etchison of Tipton, and Gene (Annie) Etchison of Cicero; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Eric Gale officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, also at the church.
