URBANA - Catherine Marguerite Setters, 91, of Urbana, IL, formerly of Anderson, IN, died at 2:00 p.m. Monday (Feb. 16, 2009) at Champaign County (IL) Nursing Home.
Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. in the Crownland Cemetery Chapel, Noblesville, IN. The Rev. Stan Sutton of Refuge Christian Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Crownland Chapel.
"Peggy" was born in Hamilton County Indiana, on February 19, 1917, the daughter of Walter E and Garnet T. (ne: Friend) Humbles. She married Gerald V. Setters on June 10, 1936. He preceded her in death May 7, 1988.
She is survived by two sons Norman L. Setters of Salt Lake City, UT and Daniel E. Setters of Champaign, IL; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grand children. She graduated from Cicero High School. She worked in Noblesville where she met, courted, and married Gerald. They moved to Cleveland, OH then returned to Indiana to raise their two sons in Cicero and later in Anderson. She was employed by Delco-Remy in Anderson for 26 years and retired to Florida. In 1987 the couple returned to Champaign, IL and resided there until she moved to the nursing home.
She was a longtime member of Park Place United Methodist Church, Anderson, IN and later attended the First Baptist Church of Champaign-Savoy, IL. She was an avid cross word puzzle player, enjoyed her Delco-Remy fellowship parties, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
