Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Walker, 94, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1920 to Wessie and Meda (Helfer) Walker in Sheridan, Indiana.
Kenny worked at McDonald Hatchery after graduation from Goldsmith High School in 1938. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII from January 14, 1942 until November 7, 1945. He was a Sergeant with the 38th Infantry Division in the South Pacific.
Before opening Walker's Garage in 1956, Kenny worked at Foxworthy Ford in Sheridan. This became Walker's Mower and Engine in 1971. After retiring in 1980, he began his woodworking hobby that turned into a life-long passion.
Kenny attended Cicero Christian Church, and was a member of Hills Baptist Church in Kirklin. He was a lifetime member of the Sheridan American Legion, and past president of the Sheridan Rotary Club. Most will remember Kenny as a comedian, storyteller, and extraordinary woodworker.
He is survived by his daughter, Jolaine "Jo" (Steve) Shook of Noblesville; son, Craig (Joy) Walker of Columbus, IN; along with Reg (Connie) Collins of Noblesville, Sandy (Royce) Arbuckle of FL, Jeff (Debbie) Collins of Zionsville, and Becky (Brian) Issacs of Cicero. Kenny was also blessed to have 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His sister, Doris Carr of Jamestown, also survives, along with several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his first wife, Zonda (Shoe) Walker; second wife, Thelma (Collins) Walker; sisters, Maxine Walker, Treasel Pettijohn, Alberta Allen, and Betty Emmert; and brothers, Jim Walker & Gene Walker.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with Rev. Vernon "VJ" Stover officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sheridan Rotary Club, 1280 West 236th Street, Sheridan IN 46069; or the donor's favorite charity.
