Charles William Strubel, 75, Indianapolis, IN, passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 2, 1933 in Lafayette, IN, to Loretta and Carl Strubel. He was previously married to Dixie Strubel and she survives in Lafayette.
Charlie was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1956 and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He joined the U.S. Army following his participation in the Reserve Officer Training Corp at Purdue. He was a principal of Loomis and Strubel Engineering, and the owner of C.W. Strubel and Associates Engineering. He founded Century 21 Progressive Inc. Realtors in West Lafayette. He then joined Century 21 Realty Group One in Indianapolis and remained there until his retirement. He was actively involved in the Lafayette Breakfast Optimists club.
His family brought him great joy and he is survived by his daughter, Kim Delaney (& John) of Lafayette, IN; daughter Lisa (& Mitch) Saks of Virginia Beach, VA; son Scott (& Pat) Strubel of Noblesville, IN; daughter Susan (& Billy) Sherlow of Lafayette, IN; daughter Christi (& Erik) Fleming of Chicago, IL; and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John (& Janet) Strubel of Rossville, IN.
Visitation will be held at 9:30AM on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Fishers, IN followed by a funeral mass at 10:30AM with Fr. Philip Haslinger celebrating. There will be a visitation at the grave site for family and friends from the Lafayette area at 3:00PM at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette, IN, followed by a 4:00PM graveside service.
