Cheryl Dale Shipp

Cheryl Dale Shipp, 78, of Carmel, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel.  She was born on May 18, 1944 to the late Ralph and Dorothy (McClister) Phillips in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Cheryl graduated from Broad Ripple High School and received a Bachelor's degree from Butler University.  She received a Master's in Counseling from CTS, and a Master's in Education from Butler.  Cheryl was a retired licensed marriage & family therapist.  Through her 35 years of private practice and her work in the church, she helped many individuals and families navigate their lives through healing and growth.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. 

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Travis Shipp; daughters, Laura (Bill) Haas and Kristen (Mark) Boice; granddaughters, Ali and Kate Boice; and the companionship of her favorite dogs, Abner & Gabby.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, in Carmel.  Rev. Richard Doerr will officiate.  Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
