Lucinda "Cindy" (Smith) Hughes, 58, of Noblesville, IN went to be with The Lord on Monday, November 18, 2013 after a two and a half year fight with ovarian cancer. She was born to Reverend Charles and Barbara Smith on February 19, 1955. They preceded her and will welcome her home.
During her grade school years Cindy attended Heritage Christian School and then graduated from North Central High School after which she attended IUPUI. During her formative years, she was a member of Victory Baptist Church where her father was Senior Pastor, and in recent years attended White River Christian Church in Noblesville. Cindy enjoyed the outdoors. She loved water skiing, motorcycling, biking and vacationing at seaside resorts.
Her career was primarily in the insurance industry with positions in underwriting, data processing and corporate administration. She was a Vice President at Monroe Guaranty. During her insurance career she was an active member of the Insurance Women of Indiana Association. In recent years she served as Facility Manager at Interactive Intelligence.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Larry Hughes of Noblesville; step-children, Matthew Hughes of Fishers, Kelly Balla of Valparasio and Erin Hughes of San Francisco; grandchildren, Lauren & Katie Balla and Aiden & Madison Hughes; her sisters, Pam Strack of Indianapolis and Susan Vuong of Spokane, WA; her brothers, Mike Smith of Niles, MI, Richard Smith of Spokane, WA and Tom Smith of Newport, WA; and 12 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038 with Pastor Perry Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cicero Cemetery.
