Clifford E. McCory, 94, of Sarasota, FL (formerly of Noblesville), passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. He was born on April 19, 1916 to Roscoe and Annabelle (Clark) McCory in Boxley, Indiana.
Clifford was an officer with the Indiana State Police from 1942-1959; was with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department from 1959-1966; and was the Hamilton County Sheriff from 1967 until his retirement in 1970, when he moved to Florida. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church in Sarasota, Florida; and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Seymour, Indiana, and a former member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association. Clifford loved his career in law enforcement.
He is survived by sons, Jerry (Carolyn) McCory of Indianapolis, and Murry (Sharon) McCory of Sarasota, FL; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clark McCory, and John McCory; and sister, Lois McCory.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Rd. in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Chaplain Tom Burton will officiate. Burial will be at Stoney Creek Cemetery in Noblesville.
