Cynthia A. Quimby, 66, of Carmel, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel. Born on April 22, 1958, to the late Byron and Carol (Lowry) Harris in Logansport, Indiana, Cynthia was an extraordinary woman, deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
Cynthia dedicated her life to connecting with others, always equipped by God to build relationships and serve those around her. As a dental hygienist, she transformed her profession into a ministry platform, investing in her patients’ lives and becoming their trusted confidant. Known for her special ability to serve children, individuals with disabilities, and the elderly, Cynthia was a favorite among her patients who cherished her gentle care and genuine interest in their well-being.
Her passion for service extended beyond her profession. Cynthia was actively involved in Women of Worth International, an organization dedicated to building connections, encouraging, and equipping women in their faith. Her heart for ministry was evident in her commitment to sharing God’s love and the message of Jesus Christ. One of her most cherished memories was a mission trip to Africa with Women of Worth, an experience that encapsulated her dedication to living out her faith every day. Whether it was neighbors, strangers at the grocery store, or friends, Cynthia’s mission was to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Cynthia’s love for cooking was another way she expressed her affection and care for others. She delighted in baking breads, preparing meals, and creating treats that brought joy to those around her. Her culinary creations were always a testament to her love, and she never missed an opportunity to remind people how much she cared for them through her delicious offerings.
Above all, Cynthia’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. As a devoted Mimi, she adored Ryan, Noelle, Vivienne, Caroline, and Gabriel, whom she affectionately called the "Fab Five." Cynthia’s life revolved around her grandchildren; she always had a surprise, a favorite treat, or a special activity planned for them. Her presence at their sporting events and shows was a testament to her unwavering support and love. She was incredibly proud of each one of them and never missed a chance to share their pictures and stories.
Her legacy continues through her loving husband, Chris Quimby; her son, Matthew (Stephanie) Quimby; her daughter, Christa (David) Snyder; her sister, Elizabeth Harris (Garry) Danz; and her cherished grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Venture Christian Church, 14501 Hazel Dell Parkway, in Carmel. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am at the church.
