Dale W. Conrad, 73, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2024.
Son of Martha Conrad (Bush) and Glen Conrad, he was born June 16, 1951 in Clinton, Indiana. Dale was an avid sportsman, but after a sports-career ending injury, he began his career with the Indiana State Police. This began a life-long passion of providing services to the law enforcement community. After reaching the rank of Detective-Sergeant, Dale retired from the police force where his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start several businesses. It wasn’t long before he was called back to duty and served as a two-term Indiana Sheriff in Fountain County. After serving as Sheriff, Dale spent many years leading the sales organization for Digital Technologies (Ft. Lauderdale) providing services to courts and law enforcement organizations. In 1997, he founded GPS (now AllPaid) and was an originator of fintech and government payment processing. After leading for many years as CEO and Chairman of the Board, Dale sold the business and retired in 2018. He was a world-traveler, a huge sports fan, and a music enthusiast, gifting his family and friends many adventures along with him.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, three sisters Peggy Hughes (Sam), Jeannie Wrede, and Glenda Haines (Bill) and one son, Dale (“Chip”) W. Conrad II. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Conrad (Blickenstaff), a sister, Patty Marshall (Conrad) of Perrysville, four children Erin Conrad and Lauren Wilson (Andy) both of Fishers, David Conrad (Diane) of Brownsburg, and Debby Dengel of Whitestown, 9 grandchildren, Blake, Connor, Jaylen, Marin, Joshua, Kylie, Lila, Jackson and Ellie and 4 great grandchildren.
Although he enjoyed much success in his business and personal life, most will remember Dale for his generosity and philanthropy. His love of people and giving heart led him to support numerous organizations, friends, and family over the years. It is in this spirit, we ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be sent to one of the following: Kaanapali Beach Ministry, c/o Pastor Richard Murray 621 Molokai Akau St. Kahului, HI 96732, or, Sacred Heart School (Lahaina) at: Jay Ramos Attn: Sacred Heart School 122 Meha Place Kihei, Maui, HI 96753
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville on September 21, 2024 from 2-5pm.
