Darlene Emmert

Darlene Duncan Emmert, 67, died July 12, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born October 10, 1943, to Paul and Mable Duncan in St. Charles, VA.
She moved to Hamilton County with her family in 1953 and attended schools in Carmel and Noblesville. Darlene graduated from Noblesville High School in 1962 and Apex Beauty School, and worked briefly as a beautician. She married Charles Emmert on December 26, 1965.
Darlene was always happy working outside in the yard and in her flower gardens. She enjoyed and loved raising her "children" in twenty-three years of home daycare. She also enjoyed, and self-taught, sewing, quilting, basket-weaving and all types of crafts, which she also taught to her grandchildren, whom she greatly loved. Her greatest joys came in serving and praising Christ in song and playing the autoharp, and in teaching children in Sunday School, youth groups, summer Christian camps, and in her home. Darlene was a member of the Cyntheanne Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, son Gregg (at home), daughter Vicki (husband: Jim) Vaught of Lafayette, grandchildren James Vaught and Sarah Vaught of Lafayette, her mother, sister Jean (husband: Steve) Campbell of Carmel, brothers Ken (wife:Judy) Duncan of Greenwood and Emmett (wife: Mary) Duncan of Florida.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, Darlene and the family request memorial contributions to Cyntheanne Christian Church, 13151 Cyntheanne Road, Fishers, IN 46037.
