David Gentry

David Lindsay Gentry, 74, of McCordsville, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on March 29, 1951 to Larry and Betty (Snow) Gentry in Kokomo, Indiana.

Dave retired as a history and PE teacher for 37 years at Tri Central High School and was involved with numerous school activities from sports teams to clubs. He was a member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church and loved to travel. Dave liked to stay busy by tinkering and fixing things.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Gentry; children, Jill Gentry, Joel Daugherty, Kristen (Lance) Beal, Jay (Cecilia) Gentry, and Bryan (Kate) Lord; ten grandchildren; and siblings, Marianne Christie, Tim (Beth) Gentry, and Dennis (Laurie) Gentry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marianna Gentry.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Fishers. The family would like to request planters that would help keep Dave's memory alive.
