David Wayne Jankowski, 60, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at home. He was born on November 11, 1953 to William and Helen (Bradley) Jankowski in Chicago, Illinois. His parents precede him in death.
Dave worked in the manufacturing industry for over 40 years, most recently he was a consultant for ID Castings. He had also worked for Northern Castings, Gartland Foundry, and Batesville Casket Company. His favorite past time was being in blue on the baseball field. He was able to turn his love of baseball into a successful 30 year umpiring career. To say he was a Green Bay Packers fan is an understatement. He truly bled green and gold and could not have been more proud to be a shareholder. He also leaves a legacy of being the World's Best Euchre Player.
He is survived by his wife, Luanne Dahringer Jankowski; children, Jill (Greg) Golightly, Amy (Tony) Hilton, David (Karen) Jankowski, and Lyndsay (Mike) Sheridan; siblings, Bill Jankowski, Chris Mrioued, Paul Jankowski, Dori Rota, and Wally Jankowski; the mother of his children, Pam Melfi; and twelve grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until the time of service.
