David "Dave" L. Lawson

David (Dave) L. Lawson, 89, of Fishers, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Riverview Hospital. He was born at home on October 2, 1935, to Herman E. and Mary B. (Gilliam) Lawson in Noblesville, Indiana.

He was a Noblesville High School alum, Class of 1953. Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army 1958-1960. He was in Administration most of his life, retiring from the family business; Reynolds Farm Equipment. He was previously Branch Manager at American National Bank (Noblesville Branch) where he met the true love of his life, his wife, Mary. Prior to that, he worked at Myers Furniture, Noblesville. Dave loved the old Noblesville and Fishers communities, serving for a time on the Fishers Town Board, Hamilton County Council and as past- President of the Fishers Lions Club.

Dave also enjoyed motorcycling, owning many different bikes throughout his lifetime, and was past- President of Honda Sport Touring Association (HSTA) and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA). He enjoyed singing and playing his acoustic guitar, and was an avid fan of old country music and performers, counting Ray Price, Charley Pride, Merle Haggard and Steve “that kid” Wariner as his favorites; the latter, a friend. As a lifetime member of Fishers United Methodist Church, he and Mary volunteered on adult mission trips in New Mexico and South Dakota. David enjoyed traveling and RV camping with Mary, and they enjoyed a home for a few years in Central Florida. Most of all, Dave genuinely loved his entire family and gave generously.

He is survived by the joy of his life, his wife of 57 years, Mary (Reynolds) Lawson; children, Laurie (Tom) Benson, Michael (Alison) Lawson, Jeff (Melissa) Lawson; 9 grandchildren, Eric (Heather) Benson, Sam (Allie) Lawson, Scott Lawson, Abby Lawson, Noah Swart, Ethan Swart, Raegan Lawson, Carter Lawson, Jack Lawson; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ruger Benson, Emerson Benson; and a brother, Richard (Barb) Lawson.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his brother, Bob; grandson, Kyle Benson; and his in-laws, Mac & Arline Reynolds.
