Deloris "Dee" Childress

Deloris 'Dee' Childress, 80, of Bloomfield, IN and formerly of Central City, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Bell Trace Living Center in Bloomington, IN. She was born March 4, 1932 in Noblesville, IN to Harry A. and Edith (Earl) McAvoy. She was married to Lester 'Gene' Childress on December 23, 1950.
Dee was an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR racing, Indiana & Kentucky basketball, and Indianapolis Colts football. Dee was also an avid music lover and attended many gospel and country music events. She was a member of Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield; and also a member of the Furnace Club Greene County Extension Homemakers.
She is survived by three sons, Charles 'Chuck' (Angie) Childress of Boonville, IN, Jeffrey 'Clyde' (Suzanne) Childress of Hardingburg, KY and Ronald (Lisa) Childress of Bloomfield, IN; sister, Becky (Jim) Scott of Atlanta, IN; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces & a nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Lester 'Gene' Childress; a brother, Joe Sylvester; and a sister, Joyce Helterbrand.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, IN.
