Denise Lynn Benson

Denise Lynn Benson (nee Payor) age 71 of Fishers, Indiana passed away September 2, 2024 after a valiant battle with MSA (Multiple System Atrophy). It broke our hearts to see you go but rest peacefully now in the arms of the Lord. Denise grew up in Independence, OH where she attended Independence High School and graduated from Miami University Oxford in 1975 with a BS degree in Radio-Television. She quickly landed a television station career in Cleveland, OH, but spent the majority of her adult years as a homemaker caring for her family. Later in life, she reentered the workforce as an Executive Administrative Assistant with the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis and Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. 

Denise was a devout Catholic and an avid pianist, serving as an accompanist in the church for over 25 years. Prior to her illness, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, having sleepovers, making homemade cookies, movie nights, and attending countless sporting events. She was a lover of pets, especially her adopted dogs, and was a strong advocate for the Humane Society of Hamilton County. She loved cooking, gardening, and traveling, making many memories and friendships along the way. 

She was predeceased in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Payor, and is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Borgert-Clark (Brandon), her son, Bryan Benson, grandchildren Callie (Wyatt), Alex, Quinn, Logan, and great-grandson Malcolm. She leaves behind many beloved friends, extended family, and her cherished foreign exchange student from Sweden, Timea Hedlund (Andreas). 

The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Majestic Care of Sheridan and Guardian Angel Hospice who were instrumental in her care. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to the time of service at the funeral home.
