Dennis Loel Jackson, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2011. Dennis Loel Jackson was born in Indianapolis on January 4, 1942 to Dola (Harris) and Ennis Jackson. He attended Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis and played right tackle on the 1958 State Championship football team. He graduated from MHS in 1959. He then attended Indiana Central (now University of Indianapolis) and played football for three years while receiving his degree in English and education. He taught at Carmel High School before teaching English at Manual High School for over 30 years. Dennis also was the head coach of the Manual Redskins football team for several years. He received his Master's degree from Butler University.
He was married to Kari for 35 years. He had four daughters, Kimberly Clayton (Tim), Jennifer Segal, Jill Eicher (Eric), and Christi Keeven (Justin); two sisters, Janet St. Germaine and Robbin Kimbley (Tom); and one brother, Jim Jackson (Jo). Denny enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also an Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder and loved going to the games. An avid boater, Dennis was a member at the Indianapolis Yacht Club. He enjoyed fishing off the dock at Geist Reservoir. Dennis also had a love for Corvettes, owning several throughout his life, and recently became a member of the Coastal Carolina Corvette Club. He spent time living in Charleston, South Carolina and most of his life in Brownsburg and Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Robert Jackson, and Dr. Richard Jackson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday June 28, 2011 at 7:00pm at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN, where friends may call from 3:00pm until service time.
