Dolores Jean Metzger, 82, Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Maple Park Village in Westfield, following a long battle with kidney failure. She was born to Arthur and Luella (Kislia) Rondeau on October 2, 1930 in Janesville, WI.
After graduating in 1949 from Columbia City Joint High School in Columbia City, IN, Dolores worked at United Telephone Company of Columbia City as a switchboard operator. She married Marvin Metzger on October 7, 1950 in Columbia City. She was a homemaker and was very active in Happy Homemakers Club of Thorncreek in Columbia City.
After moving to Noblesville in 1977, Dolores worked at Huntington National Bank in Noblesville. She was also very active in the local Homemakers club in Noblesville and worked at Conseco as a switchboard operator until she retired. Dolores was a member of Noblesville Baptist Church, where she was very active and sang in the church choir. She loved listening to all types of Christian music.
She is survived by her brother, Don Rondeau of Ft. Wayne; son, Ron (Kathy) Metzger of Sidell, IL; four grandchildren, Sandy, DeAnna, Angie and Shelly all of Indiana; and five great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Andrea, Ashley and Austin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Dale and Dick; son, Michael; grandson, Tadd.
Funeral services will held at 7:00 PM on Friday August 23 in Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM immediately prior to the service. Pastor Seth Leeman of Noblesville Baptist Church will officiate. A graveside service and burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Sidell, IL on 11:00 AM CDT Saturday August 24
