Donald L. Heck, 82, St. Louis, and formerly of Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis. He was born April 26, 1926 in Warren County, Indiana to Grace Heck(Gaskill)and Delbert Heck.
Donald was also a graduate of Kelvyn Park High School in Chicago and Purdue University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and was a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association. Donald had served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He had worked for 35 years in the telecommunications industry for Indiana Bell Telephone and AT&T, and he retired in 1986. Donald was a member of Telephone Pioneers of American, both active and retired, and served as president of both. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion and the Golden "K" Kiwanis in Noblesville, IN.
He is survived by his son, Donald D. (Kimberly) Heck of St. Louis, MO; grandsons, Ian & Evan Heck of St. Louis, MO; and one sister, Betty Ubben of Galesburg, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Arline Heck, who he married in 1950, in Noblesville.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Rev. Eric Gale officiating. Friends may call Friday, May 30, 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery.
