Donna Maria (McGrogan) Gollmer, 80, passed away on September 3, 2024, in McCordsville, Indiana. She was born on August 22, 1944, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to William McGrogan and Rosemary (Schaefer) McGrogan. Donna graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing in South Bend, Indiana, in June 1966. She was a Registered Nurse and dedicated 35 years of her life to nursing, working at several medical facilities across Central Indiana. Throughout her career, she always prioritized the care and comfort of her patients. Alongside her nursing career, from 1985 to 2010, she managed her husband Pete’s electrical business, Gollmer Electric.
Beyond her professional life, Donna was a self-taught artist who excelled in stained glass, loom weaving, fusion glass, scrapbooking, and needlework. She became quite well-known in the community for her artistic talents and unique creations throughout the years. In addition to crafting, she was an avid reader and an orchid enthusiast and, above all else, loved spending time surrounded by her family.
Donna was a loving wife to Peter Gollmer, her husband of 58 years. She was a devoted mother to John (Donna) Gollmer, Chris (Katie) Gollmer, and Angela (Jon) Rabus and a wonderful and caring grandmother to six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosemary McGrogan, and siblings John McGrogan, Joann Rist, Mary Kay Young, and William McGrogan.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240. The service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the same location.
