Dorothy Dorato, 100, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Five Star Residences of Noblesville.  She was born on May 3, 1918 to Joseph and Helena (Catalano) Cappiello in Brooklyn, New York.
Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting baby hats for the children's hospital and being a part of the craft club.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael (Kathleen) Dorato; daughter, Susan O'Donnell; seven grandchildren, Erin (Evan) Besperat, Kevin (Ashley) Dorato, Meghan Dorato, Meredith Wilkins, Christopher Wilkins, Walter O'Donnell, and John O'Donnell; eight great-grandchildren, Laila, Owen, Joseph, Robert, Eliza, Theodore, Luca and Noah; and sister, Julia Dorato.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dorato in 1986; and three brothers, Joseph, Michael & Ralph Cappiello.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at a later date at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240; or Carmel VFW Post 10003,12863 Old Meridian Street, Carmel, IN 46032.
