Dorothy M. (Eads) Hollingsead, 83, of Westfield, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born March 15, 1929 to Raymond and Jessie (Mohn) Eads in Kokomo, Indiana. Dorothy was a devoted wife to H.D. Hollingsead for 61 years.
Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Westfield High School, after attending Union Bible School. She received her Registered Nursing degree from Methodist Hospital in 1951. She was a nurse at various hospitals and served as a school nurse in the Westfield School system for 20 years, retiring in 1994. Dorothy dedicated her life to serving God. Throughout her life she loved the church. She participated in several Bible studies and ministered with her husband, singing gospel music in nursing homes. Dorothy was known and admired throughout Westfield, having lived there for over 60 years. Most of her time and dedication went to her family and home.
She and H.D. had four daughters, Pamela (Joe) Holtman of Lisle, IL, Gretchen Jarrett of Fishers, IN, Nancy (David) Chesney of Humble, TX and Judy (Greg) Brown of Novi, MI. She is also survived by siblings, Ramona Tucker, John Eads and Pat Willson; sister-in-law, Mary Hollingsead; grandchildren, Emily (Jeremy) Moon, Lynne (Sean) Spitzer, Rachel Jarrett, Natalie (Greg) Donalson, Greg (Makena) Chesney, Monica (Justin) Krohe, Kelli Brown, Logan Brown, Jacki Brown and Toby Brown; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Jarrett, Sydney Donalson, Micah Donalson and Peyton Chesney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Leon Peters, Frances Knight, Phyllis Clevenger and Betsy Ryan; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Hollingsead.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 12:30 pm Sunday, immediately prior to the service. Rev. Jack Terry will officiate. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
