Douglas Roy Gilbert

Douglas Roy Gilbert, 57, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis. He was born on February 22, 1957 to Robert and Joretta (Oneal) Gilbert in Terre Haute, Indiana. His mother survives him.
Doug received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University, and was a member of their alumni association and Theta Chi fraternity. He was also a member of Carmel Lutheran Church, and Harbour Trees. Doug loved golf, music, and his dog, Drake. A Notre Dame fan, he was always the life of the party with a great sense of humor. Doug loved his family, and gave the ultimate gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gilbert; son, Griffin Gilbert; daughter, Kiley Gilbert; brother, Mike (Ann) Gilbert; sister, Kathy (Jay) Adams; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his father, Doug was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Hector Reyes.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Carmel Lutheran Church, 4850 East Main Street, in Carmel, with Pastor Daniel Schumm officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Noblesville.
