Earl Garland Matherly, 80, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on April 18, 1931 to John and Lucy (Earls) Matherly in Liberty, Kentucky. Garland & Blanche (Lacey) Matherly were married for 51 wonderful years.
He served his country in the United States National Guard. He was a farmer all his life, and retired from Delco-Remy after 37 years of service.
He is survived by wife, Blanche (Lacey) Matherly; daughter, Amy (Tom) Simpson; brother, Paul (Anna) Matherly; four grandchildren, Denver E. Sampson, Quentin (Amy) Sampson, Chelsea Sampson & Lacey Simpson, and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Rd, in Indianapolis, with Paul Matherly officiating. Following the graveside service the family invites friends to fellowship at Jim Dandy Restaurant, 2301 Conner Street in Noblesville for lunch.
