Edna Margaret (Cooksey) Baker, 82, of Fishers, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011 in Noblesville. She was born on September 23, 1928 to Aranzo and Maude (Roberts) Cooksey in Kokomo, Indiana. She attended Washington Grade School in Kokomo, and Manual High School in Indianapolis.
She married Daniel Robert Baker on February 15, 1947. He preceded her in death in February, 2000.
Edna worked several jobs, including Blue Ribbon Dairy and RCA, both in Indianapolis. She stayed home to raise her children until they were all in school. She was a graduate of the House of James Beauty School in Indianapolis. Edna worked for several years as a professional hairdresser, and at one time owned and operated her own beauty shop.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Douglass, and her brother, Francis Cooksey.
Edna is survived by her sons, Steve (Mary) Baker, Mike Baker, and Patrick (Penny) Baker; her daughter, Diana (Paul) Sosbey; grandchildren, Wendy Lawrence, Dan Baker, Kate Baker, Jamie (Sara) Baker, Julie (Chris) Bair, Erik Baker, Abbe Baker, Alle Baker, Adrienne Sosbey, and Elliot Sosbey; and great-grandchildren, Ella Lawrence, Noah Lawrence, Nate Lawrence, Sarah Lawrence, Anna Baker, and Emma Baker.
There will be no funeral services. Her care is entrusted to Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, Noblesville.
