Edyth B. Wood, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Westside Gardens in Indianapolis.  She was born on April 1, 1925 to Granville and Delia (Minor) Bates in Mabel, Minnesota.
Edyth worked at Reed Hospital in Richmond and then retired in 1983 from Delco Remy in Anderson.  She was a member of Union United Methodist Church, where she was very involved in many activities.  Edyth also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels in Noblesville and as a transport for Prime Life in Carmel.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Wood, Janet (Michael) Gorby, and Thomas (Valerie) Wood; sister, Helen Schevel; grandchildren, Andrew (Karen) Gorby, Kelly (John) Messer, Sarah Wood, Katie Wood, and Megan (Chris) Thornton; and great-grandchildren, Madison Messer, Jack Messer, Ashley Gorby, Mackenzie Gorby, and Drew Gorby.
In addition to her parents, Edyth was preceded in death by her husband, Durward E. Wood; and siblings, Nellie Stroud, Phyllis Burkholder, Floyd Bates, Ernest Bates, Zola Hoiness, and Manville Bates.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation from 10:00 am to the time of service.  The Rev. Dr. James W. Witty Jr. will officiate.   Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Union United Methodist Church, 19090 DeShane Avenue, Noblesville, IN 46060.
