Elaine attended God’s Bible School for her senior year of high school and through college, completing her Bachelor’s degree in 1966. Elaine’s major in college was Greek, but also minored in English, Literature, History, and Psychology. After her college graduation, she began her teaching career at the Wesleyan Holiness College and Academy in Phoenix, AZ. While there, she became the editor of the Eleventh Hour Messenger, the official publication of the Wesleyan Holiness Association of Churches until she left Arizona. In 1977 she moved to Dayton, OH, to be the principal and supervisor for the Wesleyan Christian Academy. In 1981 Elaine moved to Westfield, IN, to become a college professor at Union Bible College. From 1981 through the spring term of 2017, Elaine faithfully taught young men and women to live the life of a Christian. She retired from teaching in 2017. Upon her retirement, UBC awarded Elaine an honorary doctorate to commemorate her years of service. Although her teaching career was over, she still had things to do. For the last seventeen years, Elaine also worked for the Washington School District in the cafeteria as food service help until her illness was discovered on April 21, 2022. Over the course of these eight months, while Elaine was battling her cancer, she continued to reflect God’s shining light in her life as she touched the hearts of doctors, nurses and caregivers.
