Elizabeth 'Betty' McGill, 100, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at home. She was born on June 28, 1912 to Sydney and Neva (Archibald) Smith in Champaign, Illinois.
Betty was a 1930 graduate of Arcadia High School. She had been an underwriter for Charles L. Howard Insurance in Noblesville; and was a Past Worthy Matron of Arcadia Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Radiant Chapter #200 in Noblesville. She served two terms on the Jackson Township Advisory Board and was a past precinct committeeman of SW Arcadia. Betty had also been a former member and president of the Arcadia Study Club; and a member of the Riverview Hospital Auxiliary and a gift shop volunteer. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Noblesville where she had been involved with the Women's Circle.
She is survived by daughters, Judith A. Kinder & Rebecca J. Deckard; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Mark Ford McGill who died in April 1994; and son, Robert E. McGill.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Union United Methodist Church, 19090 DeShane Avenue, in Noblesville. Burial will be at Arcadia Cemetery in Arcadia.
