Emily Vincent-Metz

On October 24th, 2021, with a serene smile on her face, Emily Anne Vincent-Metz drifted gently away in the only place she wanted to be, her mother’s Noblesville home. She left this life the same way she entered it – full of life, love, joy and hope for the future. She was surrounded by her beloved children, family and devoted friends – ample evidence of a rich and full life well lived despite the combined challenges of mental illness and substance abuse which this feisty, loyal, bold, tenacious, defiant woman faced with valor and determination! Emily had an enormous capacity for love, especially for her four children, each of whom she loved, protected and treated as special and unique treasures with their own needs. Emily dealt with her own demons, but always cared about others and did her very best for her family and friends. She understood pain, and wanted to help those in need and to give more to the world than she took. At the time of her death, her spirit and determination were stronger than ever; and she was closer than ever to her goal of maintaining sobriety for the sake of her children, and had been proudly sober for 6 weeks. Emily did not lose her spirited battle! It was her poor, tired body that ended the struggle and rewarded her with eternal peace and a well-earned rest. She was surely greeted with “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Emily was born in Carmel, Indiana, May 5, 1981, to Mary Jean Vincent and Coy Lee Graham, who survive. She is also survived by her beloved father, Mike Metz (Darlinda); her children Quentin Paul Woodrum (Victoria), Noah Michael Clos, Jackson Thomas Richards and Jeanell Richards; grandchildren Hope Perry and Giovanni Woodrum; sisters Megan Miller (Chad), Kristal Scott (Chris) and Tara Metz; brother Anthony Robinson, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her honorary Aunt and Uncle, Susan Thacker Bell and Pastor Rick Bell. Emily was devoted to her large extended family and took great pleasure in sharing their lives. She deeply loved her family and reveled in the large reunions and family vacations they celebrated together. Her surviving family is comforted by the knowledge she will now be warmly greeted and perpetually embraced by those who have gone before. She will be able to enjoy an unending, pain free reunion filled with joy and love – exactly the kind of grand, exuberant celebration she loves!

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman at Faith Community Church in Noblesville, October 31st at 1:00 p.m. After the memorial service and life celebration co-officiated by Pastor Rick Bell and Patrick Propst, family and friends are invited to remain at the church for food, fellowship and sharing of happy memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to: “Life House of Noblesville” http://lifehousenoblesville.com or “Kicking the Stigma” https://donate.onecause.com/kickingthestigma
