Emma Jean (Watson) Harrison, 90 years old, of Fortville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 after several years journey with Alzheimer's disease. Up until the end, Emma maintained her kindness and appreciation of love for her family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful experiences.
Emma was born on June 4, 1934 to Cyrus and Eliza (Denny) Watson in Noblesville, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Lowell Harrison, in 1952. Together, they raised 4 children: Rick, Gary, Vicky and Cathy. They delighted in having fun with their children. The crowning glory was the arrival of their grandchildren: Leslie, Carlene, Courtney, Jenny, Lisa, Melissa, Andy, Amy and Travis. They delighted in their grandchildren as much, if not more, than raising their children.
Emma and Lowell farmed for many years in Fortville. After getting out of farming, they had many wonderful experiences traveling to Alaska and traveling to Yellowstone National Park and many other National Parks out west. They both enjoyed snowmobiling with family and friends.
Emma was known for being a great cook. She delighted in having family get-togethers. She was especially known for her chicken & noodles and her pumpkin pies.
Emma is survived by her sons, Ricky (Penny) Harrison and Gary (Maria) Harrison; daughters, Vicky (Farley) Tyner and Cathy (Larry) Linville; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Montgomery and Sandy Blakley; sister-in-law, Violet Watson; as well as several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Lowell Harrison in 2020; brothers, Delbert Watson, Cyrus Watson Jr. and Larry Watson; and sisters, Eva Pedigo, Betty Brewster, and Dorothy Stout.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Randall & Roberts Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Emma will be laid to rest with Lowell at a later date at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
