Emogene "Jean" Ledford

Emogene "Jean" Ledford, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on the early morning of Sunday, December 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on June 11, 1929 to Robert and Fannie (Kerr) Rice in Sparta, Tennessee.
For 15 years, Jean worked at Firestone as a machine operator, then as a cook for Noblesville Nursing Home for many years, and finally at King Systems. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and known for her cooking. Jean enjoyed raising flowers, crafts, garage sales, and shopping; she was a "professional shopper". Singing, reading, and studying her Bible were also some of her joys. Jean's house was where everyone gathered, and she was "Mom" and "Granny" to many; she loved people.
Jean is survived by her children, Donna (John) Hancock, Jeff (Nancy) Ledford, and Debbie (Bruce) McIntyre; six grandchildren, Tracey (Chad) Presley, Kate Hancock, Jake Hancock, James (Kasey) Ledford, Samantha Holdgrafer, and Nate Rood; nine great-grandchildren, Kaley Presley, Tori Presley, Ayden Hancock, Wyatt Ledford, Creek Ledford, Chett Ledford, Trotter Ledford, Shelby DeStefano, and Keagan DeStefano; sister, Ann Smith; several sisters-in-law; several brothers-in-law; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James David Ledford; sister, Pattie Jo Rice; as well as her father- & mother-in-law, William and Clara Bell Ledford.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation from 11:00 am to the time of service. Pastor Chad Thomas will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
Due to allergies, the family respectfully asks that no poinsettias be given.
