Ernestine B.(Benton) Finney, 91, Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. She was born March 24, 1918 in Elberfeld, Indiana to William and Anna (McCutcheon) Benton.
She was a graduate of Indiana University and had received her master's degree at Butler University. Ernestine had taught 4th grade in the Indianapolis Public School system for 35 years before retiring in 1979. After retirement she had moved to Florida where her husband, Robert, died in 1985. Ernestine returned to Indiana in 2005. She had been a member of P.T.O. Sorority in Sarasota. Ernestine had enjoyed a very active social life, in both Florida and Indiana.
She is survived by son, Gregory (Angela) Rinehart of Carmel; sister, Blanche Turner of Noblesville, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary. Friends may call Friday, May 22, 4:00 - 7:00PM at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary. Burial will be at Sarasota Memorial Park in Florida, with committal at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26.
