Ernie Ray Millikan, 65, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Maple Park Village in Westfield, after an 11-yr battle with a rare form of Dementia. He was born on July 26, 1947 to Bob and Betty (Inman) Millikan in Noblesville, Indiana.
He grew up attending Christ Lutheran Church in Noblesville and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Ernie was an employee liaison for General Motors, member of the Noblesville Sertoma Club, a 20-year member of the Hamilton County Parks Board, served on the Riverview Hospital Board, and was a 30-year member of the "Bridge Club" and the Rochester Elks. He was also a lifelong Hamilton County Democrat, an avid tennis and golf player and coached Noblesville Youth Athletics. He will be remembered for his rich sense of humor, quick wit and the fun-loving stories he told. He was a model of integrity with a tireless work ethic. His booming laugh will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anne Millikan; father-in-law, Orv Weiske; his father's (Bob's) wife, Doris Millikan; daughter, Julie (Walter) Setmeyer; son, Jon (girlfriend, Sarah Allison) Millikan; three grandchildren, Millikan 'Millie', Sam & Meggie; two brothers, Haldon Millikan & Mike (Donna) Millikan; sister-in-law, Renee (Tim) Spoor; several cousins & nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Todd Millikan; and his mother-in-law, Lois Weiske.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am immediately prior to the service. Rev. Jason Leader will officiate.
